Hurricane Michael 2018

October 13, 2018. Bozeman High School Red Cross operated shelter. Panama City, Florida

Gary’s brother recently passed away and he came to Panama City to help his niece. But after hours of flying, he wasn’t ready to outrun the onset of Hurricane Michael. Instead, he found comfort at a Red Cross shelter. “When I see that sign” he said, gesturing at his Red Cross blanket, “it’s like a gift from heaven.”

Back when he enlisted in the armed forces straight out of high school, Gary first came in contact with the Red Cross when he wanted to make a phone call to his loved ones. “But this goes way beyond that. When I get my envelope in the mail next Christmas, I won’t hesitate to give to the American Red Cross.”
