Southern Storms and Tornadoes 2020

April 17, 2020. Monroe, Louisiana.
Charles “Harry” Murphy, Jr., BS, NRP the Emergency Management Coordinator for the Louisiana Region, Cap/West Chapter, does damage assessment after a recent tornado in Monroe, LA, on Friday, April 17, 2020. Traditionally, much of the Red Cross damage assessment is done with multiple volunteers driving through neighborhoods, along each street, verifying addresses of damaged homes. During the COVID-19 pandemic the majority of this work is being done remotely, using trusted partner assessments and satellite imagery. Harry is one of only a dozen volunteers who are helping in person.
